He tapped his foot impatiently, he’d knocked three times already and he hadn’t heard a pin drop, which for a certain metamorphamagi was quite frightening. As he thought about that it occurred to him that she may have some how severely hurt herself, keeping her from responding.
As worry overtook him he grasped the handle, swinging the door open finding…an empty room. The large auror blinked, confused. He thought he’d seen her come into her room; they had a meeting in a few hours, after all.
Trying to figure out where she could be, he heard a jingling below him and looked down. A bright orange tabby cat was staring up at him.
He glared at it and it meow’d, rubbing its head against his leg. With a chuckle Kingsley leaned down to stroke it.
“I’m sorry, but this just isn’t going to work…” he said as the cat batted its head hard against his hand. “You’re a cat…I’m black, I don’t want my heart broke again.” It meow’d as laughter came from behind him.
Kingsley spun around to find a giggling Tonks resting on her door frame; he smiled slightly trying not to be embarrassed.
“What the hell King?” She asked a giant smile on her face. He just shrugged smiling right along with her.
